ITINERARY

Day 1 | Thursday TBA – Meet us at The Bam!

Your Guys Adventure starts in style at our fave Hobart digs, The Alabama hotel. This beautiful, boutique-style, art-infused hotel dates back to 1867, but was reinvented as the quirky gal she is now in 2013. Check-in opens at 2.00pm.

The Alabama is walking distance to a bunch of excellent restaurants and bars, the Salamanca Markets, the MONA ferry, Farm Gate market, and Hobart's best coffee.

Need to know: So, The Bam only has shared bathrooms which are down the hall from the hotel rooms. If you'd prefer your own loo, we have great rooms rates available at the divine Moss Hotel—tucked in the heart of lively Salamanca Place—or at the contemporary Crowne Plaza on Liverpool Street, both a stroll from The Alabama hotel. Let us know if you'd like us to quote your trip with either of those options.

Once you've checked and settled in, meet us at The Bam's reception at 3.30pm for the first outing of your Tassie trip with our gorgeous guide, Shelley.

Shelley is a legend who knows Hobart's food and wine scene inside-out. We'll visit four of her fave hidden Hobart gems on this three-hour jaunt, enjoying a few complimentary tipples and snacks along the way. Then, with your appetite whet, where you dine and sip the night away is up to you!

But do your best to resist first-night-fever, as tomorrow is a big day. Sleep tight. You'll need it.

Day 2 | Friday TBA– Oh, Mona.

We start with a freestyle breakfast situation today. Our suggestion? Hit Dandy Lane Food & Specialty Coffee and—depending on how hard you hit it last night—go for the granola or the Fried Chicken Benny.

Prediction: The Fried Chicken Benny has your name on it.

Then we're off with return ferry tickets for a 30-minute ride up the River Derwent to the extraordinary Mona—Australia's largest private museum, and one of the world's most controversial private collections of modern art and antiquities.

Prediction: Mona blows your...mind.

To help unpack what on earth you just saw at Mona— seriously, WTF was that? —we're taking you to the utterly fab Gin(bar) for a light lunch of hearty canapés, and a private gin blending and tasting session. Best of all you'll take a 200ml bottle of your personal gin-blend with you.

Then enjoy some free time to explore the town at your own pace or sneak a cheeky nanna nap.

At 5.00pm, we'll meet again in The Bam's reception for another short meander, this time to The Lounge by Frogmore Creek. Nibbles and a special welcome cocktail are on us!

Fancy a super-fun male burlesque life drawing class with a glass of bubbles and canapés? OK then—if you insist.  We agree—life drawing classes are the perfect way to pass the time before tea. Dinner is a go-your-own-way fling tonight. Meat and potatoes, anyone?

Our actual recommendation: Fish Frenzy on Hobart's historic waterfront. Fish Frenzy is casual, and famous for its fresh fish and chips, grilled seafood, salads and seafood chowder.

What's that? Flamingos Dance Bar is calling? Off you toddle then. It's Friday night, after all.

Day 3 | Saturday TBA – Those Saturday Feels.

Another freestyle breakfast. How you take on the most important meal of the day is totally up to you today.

Our recommendation: Hit the Machine Laundry Cafe—a local institution that has been washing smalls, curing hangovers, and serving up cracking food & coffee since 1997. Enough said.

Then pop your walking shoes on—it's time to explore Hobart's legendary Salamanca Market. The market comprises stalls from more than 200 of Tasmania's best artisans, designers and producers.

At about 11.00, we'll set out on the famous Hobart Rivulet for an hour-long stroll to the iconic Cascade Brewery for a brewery tour and fabulous long lunch.

A transfer will whisk us satisfied and tipsy back into town and up to Aura—Hobart's first rooftop bar. It's a pretty quick pit-stop, so GuysAdventures will get the first round.

The evening's festivities kick-off back at The Bam's reception where you'll receive your VIP ticket to the Tasmanian Wine Festival. Held in Hobart’s Goods Sheds, Tas Wine Fest celebrates the beautiful reds Tasmanian vineyards are famous for. Your VIP ticket includes express entry, exclusive access to the VIP Lounge by Frogmore, a glass of Frogmore Creek bubbles on arrival, nibbles, and four tasting tokens.

Settle in by the firepits and toast your good GuysAdventures fortune.

Day 4 | TBA – Winding Down, Filling Up and Heading Home.

Morning activities and breakfast are at your leisure this morning, but you could do a lot worse than grabbing a coffee and wandering down to the famous Farm Gate Market.

Farm Gate Market transforms an inner city street into a bustling farmers’ market where producers who grow, raise, reap, sow, pick, pluck, brew, bake or stew show their wares.

At 8.30am sharp the big brass bell rings and trade begins!

Sadly, 10.00am is hotel check-out time. With the formalities done, our trusty transfer will whisk us to historical Richmond—25 kilometres north of Hobart—for a look-see.

Time permitting, we'll make a quick detour the Coal River Farm so you can load-up on yummy cheese and chocolates if you so choose. Then it's off to Frogmore Creek Winery for a private, three-course farewell lunch and a fireside wine tasting experience.

With bellies warm and full, we'll transfer you to the airport for your afternoon flight home.
